ARTCRANK WDC 2014 is this Saturday, November 8th!!
The event, located at 1776 (1133 15th St. NW/Penthouse 12th floor), is from 4-10PM. Libations will be provided by Oskar Blues and snacks by Clif Bar. Shinola will also be on had showcasing their sweet fiets.

Been waiting for forever for (for/for/for?!) ARTCRANK to hit the District, and now that day is coming. No dates as of yet, but that should be rectified shortly. I haz an excite for the show, but also a sad. I’ve always wanted to design a poster for it, but sadly I’m in the hate period in my love/hate relationship with art. It should be noted I’ve hated art pretty much since graduating from art school back in ’98. So there’s that.
However, if you still haz an excite voor de art and also haz an excite voor de fiets (bikes, you English speaking heathens) *AND* you are a local to the DMV area, then this is an official CALL VOOR ARTISTS!!
We are now accepting artist submissions for our 2014 show. Please note that we have a strict locals-only policy, and will only consider artists who live and work in the greater DC area.
To be considered for the show, send three digital samples of previous art and design work (URLs, JPGs, PDFs, etc.) to us via email.
While we definitely look for experience with screen-printing, letterpress and other craft printing techniques, your samples do not need to be posters and/or bike-related — just work that shows your skills and style.
Please do not submit proposed/spec poster designs — only artists who are selected for the show will be asked to create new work.
Artists who are selected for the show will be asked to produce one original poster design and provide:
– 1 Display Copy (Becomes property of ARTCRANK)
– 30 Sale Copies
Artists are responsible for printing their own posters.
Maximum size for posters is 20″ x 26″. Posters can be smaller than this, but not larger.
All posters will be sold for $50 each.
ARTCRANK takes a 40% commission on all poster sales, with the remaining 60% going to the artist.
At the conclusion of the show, any unsold Sale Copies of posters will be returned to the artists.
No artists selections will take place until after the Call For Artists closes on August 30 at midnight EST. The artist roster for the 2014 show will be announced the following Friday.
