Every lede I created for this post sounded like a review. I’ve only had the jacket for a month or so, and only have had a reason to don it a few times. However, I could already pen a full #WhatImRiding post, right now. It’s that good. Nevertheless, I will continue to throw it into the randomness of the mid-Atlantic winter and provide insight après plus d’aventures.

The Showers Pass Refuge Jacket ($279USD) boasts all the technicals you’d expect from a shell: 3-layer performance fabric (Elite), seam taped, waterproof/breathable, and (BIG) core vents. SP goes further by providing a drop down tail to catch tire spray that snaps back up when not needed, 360º of 3M Scotchlite reflectivity, Aquaguard Vision zippers, a removable/adjustable helmet-fitting hood, and two light loops voor darkest nacht.

What’s not mentioned in that list is the fit—it’s trim. Designed to work perfectly on the bike, it’s maximized for off bike as well. It’s quite possibly the most aesthetically pleasing shell I’ve ever worn. You look DAMN good in this thing all the time. Not just on de fiets.
