Y’all know I love me some socks. I can’t get enough of them. But, seeing as it’s finally winter here in the Mid-Atlantic, sometimes just regular ol’ socks ain’t enough. Case in point, when it’s cold and wet and absolutely have to get those base miles in, or more importantly, you absolutely have to get to work, you need something that can handle that nonsense.

Showers Pass Crosspoint Waterproof Socks

The Showers Pass Crosspoint Waterproof Crew / Hi-Viz Crew ($35USD) and Wool Crew Socks ($39USD) can handle that nonsense. I’ve been looking forward to these updated versions being released. I’ve been using another brand’s waterproof socks, and while they’re perfectly fine, they’re just a tube you slip over your feet. The one major advantage I feel the Showers Pass Crosspoint will have over the competition is their fit:

“As a result of a proprietary 3-D laminating process, the fit is ergonomic in comparison to other waterproof socks on the market. The socks are designed to be a compression fit, delivering maximum breathability during foot motion.”

Of course there’s all the tech involving keeping the elements out and keeping warms in. But, honestly, fit is so ridiculously important when it comes to winter cold protection for the extremities as poor fit can have dangerous consequences.

Looking forward to testing these out when they arrive. I’ll keep you updated.
