Saw this little beauty at Interbike, which incredibly, has already been almost a month ago. Time’s flying since CX started. Regardless, this piece was cool, so I wanted to post it.
The Silca Seat Roll by Yanco ($55USD) is handcrafted using “original 10.1 oz Martexin Waxed Duck canvas. This canvas was developed for use in WWII and is most widely known for the role it played in the D-Day invasions. With equivalent water resistance to leather, the waxed duck produces a beautiful and supple bag that only improves both functionally and in beauty with age, and can also be re-waxed every few years to re-waterproof.”
Inspired by a vintage 1960s leather Italian tool roll, Silca worked with bespoked cycling bag maker Yanco to recreate this classic. Super limited in quantities as Javiar Yanco himself sews each roll by hand.
