This new measurement/fit system called idmatch from Selle Italia looks intriguing. They’re taking into account 2 sometimes overlooked measurements. Some address pelvic tilt through perceived flexibility like fizik. However, flexiblility and pelvic tilt don’t exactly define each other. What intrigues me the most is the thigh circumference. Having saddles suggested to you based on the distance between your legs is fantastic. Or, at least I think that’s what they’re referring to. Interesting that there’s not a lot of information available beyond what’s provided on the site. I’ve personally never dealt with Selle Italia directly—QBP is generally where I’d get the saddles. Does a dealer go through a distributor to acquire the measurement system, or Selle Italia directly? Here’s a video Eurobike 2012 showing the measuring process: Notice that the guy being measured is doing an accurate representation of the Assos guy. Having worked with people for years on fits and saddle selection being a hot topic I find this system to be great. It encompasses all the body measurements and abilities to help guide someone toward a saddle that should work well for them (or it will at least help narrow someone’s focus).
