Yes, that D1 stands voor Day 1, because TWO DAYS OF FULL CXSOMENESS!! DCCX still remains (as of this post) the only CX race I’m able to attend in the DC Metro area, because life. This year I was able to share the magic of veldrijden with The Bug which proved to be an amazing experience. She is now a cowbell master. Also, I sense a future Little Belgian in the making. She was already working out how to get her bike up the hills and stairs since she’s not strong enough to lift it (“You can push it, right?”). Sweet #dadlife moment.
It’s worth noting this is the first year DCCX has been a two day event. Saturday had a decent turn out, but I expected to see more people than was there, but figured many were planning on attending the normal Sunday madness. Course layout was the same as previous years, just ran in reverse with a few minor changes. Finish line was placed on the top of the hill coming out of what I’m calling the amphitheater.
