Think I came across this video laatste jaar, but seeing as the 2013 edition of the race is this weekend, I figured now is as good a time to (re)post it. First off, I love the name Tulsa Tough. How fuggin’ original is that? It doesn’t rely on monikers like “classic”, or “invitational”, or “Roubaix” in a desperate grab to inflate its importance (I’m gonna catch flak for that…). It’s simply where it’s at, and how hard it’s gonna be for anyone toeing the line. Second, they have a hill called “Cry Baby”. This hill is raced repeatedly in grueling criterium fashion. This hill is hard. It also happens to contain most of the city during race day. Plus, it appears all of the city are happy drunks who love bike racing and wetness and debauchery. And who doesn’t like all three of those things all at once?! The 2013 Tulsa Tough is held over the course of 3 days (June 7/8/9) and 3 different courses. A team and individual omnium winnaar will be crowned at the end of the weekend on Sunday. Plus, there’s a ton of other stuff happening so check out the official site voor more information.
