Cycling Cap Tuesday Edition
The 2002 (and perhaps ’03) Team Deutsche Telekom Biretta. Legendary names like Ullrich, Vinokourov, Zabel, Klöden, and Guerini, among others, donned this fabled magenta cap.
This is today’s entry for #CyclingCapTuesday. Have a favorite cap? Snap a shot on a Tuesday, tweet it with the hashtag, and/or submit it to their Tumblr.

For me, this cap stands as the last gasp of the emphatically-colored team kits of the EPO era. Telekom peaked in the late 90s; they went to the ’02 TdF sans-Ulle’ and came home to Germany without the Green Jersey for the first time in six years.
The following year, Ullrich took Lance to the wire in a bare-bones Bianchi kit that re-birthed retro cool (a full year ahead of you-know-who)—and I don’t think anyone who remembers the pre-collapse Team Coast kit would consider that a bad thing.
How do I get my photo up on the sight?
Patience, Cipo—your time will come.
