Velocio Apparel RECON Quilted Vest
I’ve always been a huge of vests, whether it be in the outdoor industry or in cycling. There’s something about them I’m drawn to. However, on the cycling side, many (not all) brands seem to allow them to become aesthetic disasters, screaming “YOU GUYS, I RIDE A BIKE.” The combination of on bike technical usefulness and off-bike effortless style is what I find the most intriguing. If it can handle urban commuting in the way you’d expect of technical wear then be just as comfortable once you’ve arrived at your destination, I’m interested.
The Velocio Apparel RECON Quilted Vest ($269USD) is one such vest. It’s “made to extend that cool weather comfort beyond pedaling. The fit and versatility of our Wind Vest with added warmth, protection and style thanks to Global Merino Ponte merino wool base fabric and an ultralight Pertex Quantum shell. Quilted side panels offer a subtle detailing that, paired with a moto-inspired metal zipper, looks clean and casual after the pedaling stops. Wear it over theRECON Wool Long Sleeve. Wear it over a button down. Wear it with denim. The RECON does insulation duty without sacrificing performance or style.”
